Most companies will continue to allow employees to work from home after the crisis is over, findings show.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to throw businesses into disarray, the vast majority of U.S. chief financial officers have become increasingly pessimistic about the economy, with forecasts for 2020 hitting historic lows and providing a sobering indication of how long it might take for conditions to return to normal....

Optimism about returning to normal has faded: 60% of the executives surveyed do not expect operations to return to pre-crisis levels until 2021 or later. Growth expectations for revenue, earnings, dividends, capital spending and hiring for next year all subsequently fell to their lowest levelsindicated

that they are primarily focused on cutting costs instead of growing revenue, as companies look to shield against the downside amid the pandemic. Almost one in every four CFOs surveyed is currently focused on the survival and viability of their company—that number is highest for the retail sector, which is the most pessimistic about current conditions, at 41%.more employees to work remotely, leading to companies having smaller real estate footprints. Many executives also forecast higher levels of automation and cloud computing.

How about instead of “returning to normal” we make our world better by not giving all the taxpayers money to big corporations for bailouts and use it to enrich hard working Americans rather than executive’s and investor’s bank accounts...
