6 Doctor Who Season 14's Release Plan Hurts Its Domestic Audience The UK is at a disadvantage with Doctor Who's upcoming update In March 2024, it was announced that Doctor Who season 14 will be available to stream on Disney+ worldwide on the 10th of May, one day before the UK release date of the 11th of May. In previous years, Doctor Who has aired in the UK first, or at least had a simultaneous release, so this is a first for the show.

However, Doctor Who’s bi-generation raised a lot of questions that Davies will hopefully answer in the upcoming season. In Doctor Who: Unleashed, Davies explained that bi-generation had been applied to every incarnation of the Doctor, implying that each previous version of the Time Lord was still flying about time and space.

However, there is concern that some of these mysteries won’t get a satisfying resolution because there are too many of them. During his original tenure as showrunner, Davies was reliable in wrapping up characters’ stories well, although there were some gaps. For example, Jenny never got an on-screen explanation about her fate after “The Doctor’s Daughter,” and instead, Doctor Who fans had to learn about what happened through the comic miniseries The Lost Dimension.

David Tennant stepped into the Doctor’s shoes for a second time as the Fourteenth Doctor, having previously portrayed the Tenth incarnation from 2005 to 2010 and again in the 2013 50th-anniversary special.
