Starz and Curtis"50 Cent" Jackson are reteaming on two drama projects, expanding the producer and rapper's portfolio at the premium cable outlet.
Jackson's G-Unit Film and Television are developing a show about a woman sports agent — based on the life of agent and lawyer Nicole Lynn — and a potential anthology about hip hop, with the first season devoted to a feud between 50 Cent and The Game. Both are produced by Starz parent Lionsgate Television, where Jackson has an overall deal.
Jackson continues to be a key supplier for Starz, serving as an executive producer of the Power franchise and the forthcoming Black Mafia Family, which earned a straight-to-series pickup earlier in the year.the rise of a determined young African-American woman as she breaks through and climbs to the top of the highly competitive and male dominated world of sports agents.
Lynn will be an exec producer on the project with Grey and Jackson. Lynn was repped in the deal by attorney Elsa Ramo; Grey is repped byMoment in Time: The Massacrewill explore the true stories in which iconic hip hop moments collided with the sensational and sometimes criminal events behind-the-scenes.
God knows we need more dramas that glorify black on black crime and negative images of black people. 🙄
