While there are way too many throw pillows embroidered with “Home is where the heart is,” the truth of the matter is this: Home is where all my random shit is. And if there’s no space to store all my clothes, art, books, furniture, etc., I don’t know how I’m also supposed to find a place for my heart.

Create an art & books wall I’ll admit it: I have a lot of—for lack of a better word—stuff. I like to collect sunglasses, books, art, etc. And when I moved into my new apartment, I wasn’t sure where all of it would go.
4. Add a chic rug Even if you’ve been blessed with incredibly beautiful hardwood floors, a rug can add an air of coziness to any room. In the case of small rooms, too, a rug can really help to brighten up the space—especially if you’re stuck with a dark carpet. As soon as I put this pink bohemian rug down, my small bedroom looked better instantly. You’d be amazed at what a difference a chic rug can really make.
