A 66 percent majority of Republicans in 13 Southern states including Texas and Florida are in favor of seceding from the union, according to a poll released Wednesday by Bright Line Watch. Half of all independents in the South agreed, while only 20 percent of Southern Democrats were on board.
A smaller share of respondents from other regions agreed. In 13 Midwest states, support was highest among independents, 43 percent of whom wanted to secede. In Northeastern states, 39 percent of Democrats were in favor of leaving the U.S. and forming their own country, while 43 percent of Republicans in states near the Rocky Mountains said the same.
Good. Do it. I want to see how this actually plays out for them. It will be funny for at least the first week.
So, what are true actual reasons for secession? I really want to try to understand this. I don’t see anything that is so bad that states want to go it on their own. Please help me understand this.

i am not surprised by this at all The States are having to do the job the Fed is not doing and alliances are happening with the states as we speak. The federal govt is not representing most of the people these days and the states are having to solve problems
The southern states are welfare states with the highest per capita illiteracy, poverty, divorce and drug use rates. If they were to leave the union it would help the union.

i think an acceptable start would be to reform the senate. 33 rural senators. 33 urban senators. 33 suburban senators. Each classification can come up with it's own criteria for how they pick their senators. Doing it by state causes too much turmoil.

In our rural vs urban political environment, the idea of secession is not only utterly ridiculous but impossible. Okay so Texas wants to secede, what happens to the blue cities like Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin - you know where most of the people live?
