At least 38 people were killed at pro-democracy protests in Myanmar, the UN's Special Envoy to the country says, in the deadliest day of violence since a military coup on February 1

At least 38 people were killed at pro-democracy protests in Myanmar on Wednesday, the UN's Special Envoy to the country told a briefing Wednesday, in the deadliest day of violence since a military coup on February 1.

Thousands of protesters in towns and cities across the Southeast Asian nation have taken to the streets over the past four weeks. Security forces have opened live fire, used tear gas, flash bangs and stun grenades on demonstrators in recent days. "Today was the bloodiest day since the coup happened," Special Envoy Christine Schraner Burgener said, adding that the total death toll since February 1 was now 50.

I know all countries is saying Human Right and calculating their own interests. Actually their policy is opposed each other and Myanmar Military take this weak point to continue their path repeatedly in 3 time bloody coups since 1962. All leaders in the world should be honest.

Meanwhile the United Nations and world powers do nothing.

Watch carefully at the man in white shirt! This man had already been captured. However, he was murdered on the road by riot police during the arrest. This happened at North Okkalapa, Yangon. UN_GP_RtoP WhatsHappeningInMyanmar CrimesAgainstHumanity

Trumpism.

Killing their own people...what are they afraid of?

Condemning Myanmar's army coup & killings are essential but the crisis shows the UN and other international units are futile in deterrence of rogue regime, killing its own people. UN must stop the massacre or be complicit in the killings.

💔

And the world always just watches whenever those with guns and powers tries to rule using violence

The U.S. is selling weapons. He sold a lot of weapons in the Gulf War and made money. But the U.S. is not actively involved in the Myanmar crisis in Myanmar? A lot of Myanmar's people died 50 people died yesterday. Where is President Joe Biden now?

StandWithMyanmar

It would be more realistic for CNN to deal with the passive attitude of its own country than with the Myanmar crisis. It would be more realistic for a CNN correspondent to go to President Joe Biden and ask for Jeje's cooperation in Myanmar while he's out there for a photo session

Can you Imagine the Military junta's attack with from air strike to own citizens unarmed?

What are they protesting? AskingforAFriend
