FEMA has approved more than half of the states to begin paying a $300 unemployment benefit. Here's when payments will begin in each state.

that allows states to count current unemployment insurance benefits toward the $100 requirement.

States that do so effectively pay claimants an extra unemployment benefit of $300. Some states, however, have decided to fund the $100 from other sources, giving those eligible claimants an extra $400. Here’s a breakdown of how much each state plans to pay in extra benefits. We continue to seek confirmation of the benefit amount from several states and will update this data as information becomes available. The big question for many is when states will begin sending out the $300 and $400 in extra unemployment benefits. We have confirmed that two states, Arizona and Texas, have begun sending out the extra unemployment benefits. In contrast, Hawaii may not begin sending out payments until late October.

Keep in mind that if Congress passes a stimulus package that includes enhanced unemployment benefits which Mr. Trump signs into law, it will replace the $300 and $400 unemployment benefit described above. This is a developing story, with FEMA approving additional states on a daily basis. As more information becomes available, we will update this article.
