A child was injured Wednesday afternoon after he was shot while sitting inside a car in Newark, city officials said. Officers were called to the 200 block of Broadway at 1:15 p.m. for a call of shots fired and when they arrived, they found a 3-year-old boy who had been grazed on his thigh by gunfire while inside a car with two adults,It was unclear if someone shot at the car or if the shots were fired inside the vehicle.
The child was rushed to University Hospital, where he was in stable condition Wednesday evening, O’Hara said. This shooting remained under investigation as no suspects were named and no arrests were made, authorities said.
