The second option is to cancel student loans in a stimulus package.
This process also would occur in Congress through legislation, but it differs from the first option, which would be separate, standalone legislation. If student loan forgiveness is included in a broader stimulus package, it’s possible that both parties may agree to cancel student loans. There are many different economic priorities in a stimulus bill, including second stimulus checks, unemployment benefits and state and local aid, among other priorities.
Their argument goes something like this: the Higher Education Act, which is congressional legislation that includes student loans, authorizes the U.S. Secretary of Education to cancel student loan debt. Opponents of this argument claim that under Separation of Powers, only Congress has the “power of the purse,” and therefore only Congress can decide whether to cancel student loans. Schumer and Sen.
tackle student loans by taking away tax exempt status. apply a 'luxury tax' on all college and universities who set tuition rates above a threshold. the higher the tuition the higher the tax. recycle the taxes paid back into student grants (not loans) to reduce student debt.
I want to show how this will snowball. If they get rid of $50 k in student then I and everyone else who paid our loans or saved for college want $50k in our FHA mortgage forgiven. All renters should get $50k in rent assistance. I wonder what the total would be?
How come you didn't have even one sentence on cutting the crazy costs of college? How about stop building all the extravagant amenities that keeps rates going up. Cut all the useless degrees and useless administration jobs. There are vp's and asst Deans for everything?
So you don't see a problem with the 65% of Americans who do not have a degree paying the loan debts for the 35% of ppl who have a college degree? I went to college so I know how much loan money goes to pay for Spring Break and drunken nights out. No way in hell!
Thr ball's in their court. They opened their big mouths enough. Now let's see what the dems can do......
Step 1. Get the government out of the student loan business. Step 2. Congratulations.
Forgiving student loans increases economic inequality by relieving college-educated persons of their contrail debts. It’s also not good policy to void legitimate contracts or for the feds to spend more money when the debt is already tooo large
Pay your bills you lazy sacks
One thing is for sure: Forbes is under the communist regime! It's time for the Americans to open their eyes and chase the communists led by Nancy! :
