Here are three things to know about Wednesday's impeachment trial session:

that they would be open to the possibility of witnesses, including Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Mitt Romney of Utah. Democrats also hoped to get the support of Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee to cross the 51-vote threshold needed.

Collins and Murkowski were back in the spotlight later in the day when they asked Trump's defense team a question that seemed to suggest Collins doesn't completely believe the claim that Trump was purely interested in ridding Ukraine of corruption. Patrick Philbin speaks on the Senate floor during the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, Jan. 29, 2020, in Washington, DC.

"To turn him away, to look the other way, I think is deeply at odds with being an impartial juror," Schiff said, after Schumer mentioned some of the reported allegations from Bolton's book in his question.

Instead of doing what the people need like improvement of roads hospitals etc. They waste taxpayers money on a witchHunt and the hourly salaries of thousand of people. If the democrats had spent this money on healthcare a lot of people may still b alive. Could gave away medicine

Does anyone even have a clue about how long this is going to go on?

It’s been the Roaring 20’s! With so much happening who would have thought this is just one of so many news stories, yesterday one network had 3 split screens with the USMCA, the Coronavirus and impeachment... Make’s me think “What’s Next today” giant land sharks. Goodness

YES AND 2 THINGS TO REMEMBER..THIS IS TRIAL..ITS NOT A HEARING OR MEDIATION..HENCE YOU HAVE TRUMP’S DEFENSE TEAM LAWYERS VS HOUSE MANGERS...NO REPUBLICAN SHOULD VOTE FOR WITNESSES OR REMOVAL..JUST AS DEMS VOTED TO IMPEACH PRESIDENT TRUMP WHETHER IT WAS RIGHT OR WRONG..!!

If he is acquitted by the Senate because witnesses and documentation were not allowed, he will be a loose cannon. Dershowitz is claiming that, because he is president, he can do whatever he wants?

It’s a sham- The people has voted for the impeachment it should be done by the people. It shouldn’t take this long

I’m yet to hear ANY justification for allowing a President, of all people, to solicit an investigation against a political opponent or their family when we’ve a DOJ entirely capable of conducting investigations into political persons independent of a President’s knowledge. umm....the senate complained that the house was relying on sencond hand info but they don't want to hear from the people in the room at the time
