About 3,900 evacuees escaping Hurricane Dorian's devastation in the Bahamas have come through south Florida. However, no shelters are open for Bahamian evacuees in Florida, and the Trump administration won't grant temporary protected status, officials say.

Only a few have been found inadmissible, said Diane J. Sabatino, CBP director of field operations. Officials are making those decisions on a case-by-case basis and among the reasons for inadmissibility, Sabatino said, are prior immigration violations and criminal histories. She would not provide CNN with the exact number of people who have been refused entry. "Students enrolled in schoolsPublic schools in Palm Beach County, Florida have begun enrolling displaced Bahamian students, school district spokeswoman Julie Houston Trieste said. The young evacuees are welcome at any district school and can register at a central welcome office, she said.

Good job. Help if we can. Period.

Other parts of the Bahamas are undamaged. They could go there. The US is not the answer for everyone’s problems.

NO reason to grant TPS to Bahamians! We can't know who these (mostly unidentifiable) people are, where they came. They'll disappear into the mainstream, to never again be accounted for or traced. We have too many already. Better solution: Make/fund a camp on other Bahama islands.

Jesus Yall blame Trump for E V E R Y T H I NG!
