It looks like we're going to get some zombie action next summer. One of the more surprising projects to be announced this year was 28 Years Later . Another entry in this series has been in varying forms of development for a long time, but it never seemed like it would get off the ground.
Regarding the actual competition and trying to court the same audience, 28 Years Later's biggest competition is The Black Phone 2.
