She’ll soon be seen in Steve McQueen’s new movie, Blitz, along with Scarlett Johansson’s feature film directorial debut, Eleanor the Great.28 Years Later, which will kickstart a new trilogy of movies, also stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and Jack O’Connell. Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman also recently confirmed that Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Jim in the forthcoming horror sequel; though he noted Murphy will do so “in a surprising way and in a way that grows.” He also hinted that it’s “not in any way a literal sequel” to 28 Days Later.
Further plot details for 28 Years Later remain under wraps at this time. Civil War’s Alex Garland wrote the script for the movie and serves as a producer alongside Boyle, Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, and Bernie Bellew. Murphy also serves as an executive producer. The second film in the new 28 Years Later trilogy will be directed by Candyman and The Marvel’s Nia DaCosta.
