25% of US households are either unbanked or underbankedTwenty-five percent of U.S. households are unbanked or underbanked, according to a 2017 survey by the FDIC. Those are people who either don't have a bank account, or have an account, but still use financial services outside the banking system. There's a huge market for prepaid debit cards and quazi bank accounts like from Walmart. Maybe this is more carryover of past ideas when people chose to store cash but it seems a bit far-fetched to say it's a problem of discrimination or needing any response from government But I bet they all have smartphones and they all have cable or Satellite TV.. right so what's the moral of the story here...
