One of the bullets claimed the life of Gail Knisley , 62, as she was being driven on I-270 to a doctor's appointment a few days before Thanksgiving. After Knisley's death, the Franklin County Sheriff's office created a task force headed up by then Franklin County Sheriff Chief Deputy Steve Martin. Two decades later, ABC 6 re-united Martin with some of the members of the task force on the 20th anniversary of the capture of Charles McCoy Jr.
