That means the 443hp, 413lb-ft turbocharged and electrically supercharged 3.0-liter straight six under the hood. An integrated starter generator mounted between the engine and transmission offers a 23hp and 151lb-ft helping hand when needed.

Compared with the coupe, the CLE 53 Cabriolet is the softer option—literally. The extra bracing in the bodywork required to compensate for the lack of a roof, plus all the hardware needed for the folding soft-top and things like the Airscarf system that directs air through the seats to keep your neck and shoulders nice and warm, mean the CLE 53 Cabriolet is heavier than the coupe.
