, with a total redesign for the 2023 model year. This full-size three-row SUV received a new platform, a new powertrain, and a fresh interior that make it competitive once more with the competition.

We've sampled our way up and down the Sequoia's trim levels, including the entry-level SR5 model, the off-road-oriented TRD Pro, and the range-topping Capstone variant. Read on to find out which model is the best buy of the entire range.The 2023 Toyota Sequoia's base trim level is the SR5 model. Gone is the big 5.7-liter V-8 engine. For the third generation, every version of this jumbo Toyota uses a twin-turbocharged 3.

The SR5 rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and has a standard power moonroof. On the inside, it has heated seats, an 8.0-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. An eight-speaker audio system and three-zone climate control are also standard. We've liked our early experience with Toyota's new infotainment systems, so even though the 2023 Sequoia SR5 gets it on a smaller 8.

Every Sequoia comes equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 suite of active driver assistance systems which includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, lane centering, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic monitoring, and parking sensors are also standard. Pricing for the Sequoia SR5 starts at $59,795 with 2WD and $62,795 with 4WD.
