2023 BMW M3 Edition 50 Jahre First Drive: A Truly Special Edition

BMW's Individual program offers a plethora of colors, but until the M3 Edition 50 Jahre, only some of these retro shades were included. Those missing colors were revived and reformulated for this occasion—adding to the Jahre's exclusivity. The five colors won't be evenly split between the 500 cars; BMW will paint them according to demand.

M3 Edition 50 Jahre buyers can flex outside the car, too: Each comes with a rolling hard travel case printed with the model name and iconic M colors.Given it's a mechanical clone of the M3 Competition xDrive, the Edition 50 Jahre drives much as we remembered: utterly thrillingly. Our main complaint doesn't have to do with how the M3 drives, but how many ways there are to set it up. Numerous modes for the drivetrain, chassis, steering, brakes, and electronic aids result in exponential options to tailor the M3 to your liking. If BMW wanted the standout grille to accentuate its styling, they should've consulted alfa_romeo for the Giulia's formula, not subaru for the Tribeca's.
