2023 BMW M2 Teased, Will Enter Production In Mexico Late This Year | Carscoops carscoops

has teased the 2023 M2 and announced the highly anticipated model will be built exclusively at their San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico.

Set to enter production late this year, the second-generation sports coupe promises to take “BMW’s excellent dynamic performance even further, with advanced engineering that allows it to combine the capabilities of competition cars with the ease of use in everyday driving.” While BMW is still keeping details under wraps, the company released a handful of teaser images. However, are more revealing as they have shown the high-performance variant will have an aggressive front fascia that features a unique grille with horizontal bars. It will be joined by a sporty front bumper that boasts blocky intakes and a V-like support.Elsewhere, there will be aerodynamic side skirts and lightweight wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking system.

The biggest mystery remains the rating of the car’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. Rumors have suggested the standard M2 could have around 450 hp , while later variants may boost that number up to 490 hp . Regardless of the final rating, the President and CEO of the San Luis Potosí plant, Harald Gottsche, said: “We are very excited to be part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of M, now that our Mexican plant will build M vehicles for the whole world.
