For decades, Democrats wanted nothing to do with the one-term president associated with do-gooder weakness. With Trump in office, that's starting to change.

The post-presidential rehabilitation of Jimmy Carter’s image is reaching a new peak.

In January, after Booker and Rep. John Lewis met with Carter in Georgia, Booker posted a video on Instagram of Carter telling him, “I hope you run for president,” to which Booker responded, “You encouraging me means more to me than you could imagine.”The 2020 Election. When Carter left the presidency in 1981, he had posted an average Gallup approval rating of 45.5 percent, better only than Harry Truman among post-World War II presidents. But over nearly four decades, Carter began to repair his legacy.

Nah!

oh really? but they love the 2 term POTUS associated with weakness. dispensing Opioids of ‘hope’ & ‘change’ as the world sank into chaos

People (esp St Ronald fans) forget too, average monthly job gains were higher under Carter than they were under Reagan.

PlantLife12 You can just see how President Carter leads his life and you know what kind of man he is. Carter IS the total opposite of the thug who occupies the WH today.

Doing good – actually caring about and helping people – is not a sign of weakness. It's a sign of strength, maturity, and compassion. How sad that so many people have forgotten that.

Carter and Obama are going after it . who is the better President its a very close race. There fighting over the 27th & 28th Spots

MrPresidentJC Jimmy Carter was the most decent man to ever be president and he was crucified by the Republicans who would give us the anti-Christ, Reagan, in 1980. Ronald Wilson Reagan=666 Think that's a coincidence? It's not. The AC comes as a man of peace to set the stage.

Carter2020

Sure, so they can sell out whatever left of America to China?

Between Bernie Sanders and Jimmy Carter, Democrats must really love lines.

Jimmie Carter was the last good president, the direction was starting to go bad even on his watch.

I liked them. The Democrats took a wrong turn when they started listening to the Davos set instead of the people. They've been awful since becoming 'New' Democrats.

Undying love and admiration. Faults? Mistakes? Ffs, who not? Energy policy, for one: imagine where today if US had stayed with. Fucking Raygun. Bad actor, governor; worse president. In retro, he prolly meant well, unlike the embodiment of repulsion we presently revile.

Bless the honest folks in America. In Finland we love President Carter. Teflon Don is a fraudster protecting the status quo. Here comes the law.

He seriously tanked the U.S. economy. Reagan was handed a -0.3 GDP. Democrats

Couldn't care less about kind and honest, but Carter delivered some things - started to roll back the Soviets, imposed peace on Israel and Egypt, at least attempted armed rescue of hostages. Relative to the Western leaders of the past decade, he was a giant.

He’s running

We all should live our life like Jimmy decades of service, kind, humble, dignified he and Rosalyn are two wonderful people to be honored and admired ..

Anyone claiming that Politico is not an extension of the Public Relations (PR) wing of the Democrat National Committee is not paying attention...

If treason is ok with a political party, then being involved with that political party should be a crime. Surprised whole clan hasn’t fled to Russia or Saudi Arabia to live off all the $$$ they’ve stolen from US taxpayers & absconded from other countries through US presidency for profit. They’ll all be tried for treason in absentia & Trump name will forever be associated w Traitors.
