SEATTLE — Two University of Washington football players were charged after allegedly attacking a bicyclist in Seattle.According to court documents, both players, Rogers and Diesel Gordon, both face misdemeanor assault charges.According to a Seattle Police Department report, the bicyclist told investigators he was riding in the University District when two people in a car behind him started yelling at him to get on the sidewalk.
The bicyclist told police he flipped them off and spat at the driver. The driver then tried to hit him. The players allegedly pushed the victim, smacked him, broke part of his bike and then spit on his face at least eight times. The victim said the suspects continued harassing him until a pedestrian approached and tried to intervene.
The police report shows they were able to identify the teammates because the attack was caught on surveillance video and both men were wearing UW athletics-branded clothing. Rogers, 18, is also facing He pleaded not guilty on Thursday in King County Superior Court and his next appearance will be May 21. to stay up-to-date on news stories from across western Washington.
