Two adults and two minors were rushed to the hospital following a house fire that left their home severely damaged early Wednesday, according to Houston Fire Department officials.
The agency received calls from neighbors around 2:20 a.m. saying there was a house on fire with people possibly still inside, District Chief Robert Rust told On Scene reporters. When firefighters arrived at the southwest Houston house in the 1100 block of Plumbrook Lane, the residents were already outside.Former candidate for U.S. representative accused of threatening to kill U.S. Rep. The adults and minors suffered from smoke inhalation and lacerations that occurred as they were fleeing the burning house. All four were taken to the hospital where their conditions were stabilized, Rust said. Firefighting crews performed an offensive attack on the fire and were able to get it under control. After the fire was put out, the house was searched and the firefighters did not find any additional victims, Rust said.
As of Wednesday morning, Rust said the cause of the fire was unknown. An arson unit will be tasked with investigating further to find the cause.
