Crump said that, in body camera footage of the incident, Nichols could be heard calling out for his mother.Civil rights attorney Ben Crump speaks at a news conference with the family of Tyre Nichols, who died after being beaten by Memphis police officers, as RowVaughn Wells, mother of Tyre, right, and Tyre's stepfather Rodney Wells, along with attorney Tony Romanucci, left, also stand with Crump, in Memphis, Tenn., Monday, Jan. 23, 2023.

Why has no one reported what he did to attract all those cops chasing him down the highway? Cops just pulling random folks out of their cars and beating them to death? Is that what you are reporting NPR?

To all the comments re they will get other cops' jobs, they have been charged with 2nd-degree murder & will be going to prison for a long time.

Great! The daily victim from NPR. That's their goal. It really does not matter what it is-make sure you have one every day.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

The city is slow-rolling this to try and defuse the anger that would come out if they showed the video right away. Same crap they pulled with the Roe v. Wade decision being leaked early. Stay angry people.

Guess he shouldn't have resisted and became violent with the police.

And yet no one was charged in his death.

I hope to God they don’t release the video smfh

Have they called for 'mostly peaceful protests' yet?

Maybe a high speed chase and fighting police isn't a good idea.

Fired? No, we want prosecutions.

They will get another job in another department

'after he was stopped' is a weird way of saying 'after police fatally injured him without just cause'

Why aren't the races of the fired EMS or Officers included in this tweet? Isn't that what we do now when a BIPOC is beaten or killed by police?

Who’s running NPR? “Stopped” is not a synonym for “beaten to death”!

That's eight people, who apparently were somehow involved. 8. Vs one. Derek Chauvin level of courage, it seems.

Will those 5 be rehireable at another agency?

passive way to say 5 cops beat a man to death but alright
