Set in the distant future, the game sees racers darting across a destroyed earth. Their plasma-powered motorcycles rocket down the twelve roller coaster-like tracks at incredible speed and boast various offensive and defensive abilities.
Meanwhile, 1998’s Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls shows you don’t need wheels to have a racing game. The game was developed by Iguana Entertainment and initially published by Acclaim, with Throwback Entertainment publishing it for Nintendo Switch Online. The game features several ball-shaped characters ascending towering tracks. Players use grappling hooks to both climb up platforms and slow down opponents. It also supports up to four players in competitive multiplayer.
Note that members needed Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass to play N64 games like Extreme-G and Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls. It costs $49.99 for one year, about $20 more than the standard membership.
