People in Sandy were relieved after police arrested 18 individuals they said were tied to a laundry list of crimes.One woman who lives in Sandy said she had noticed a spike in crime.MORE:Residents like Madsen worry about crime, like the recent investigation and arrests in Sandy.

“I have much respect for the police officers. There's a lot going on, and they can't get to everything," said Madsen. According to the Sandy police, a group of 18 individuals participated in crimes like mail theft, vehicle burglary, fraud, identity theft, the distribution of meth and fentanyl, and auto theft.ALSO:Sandy police said their Crime Suppression Unit ran the investigation from Feb. 1 through Feb. 15.

Still, many questions remained. How were the 18 arrested people connected? How did they target their victims? And how many more victims did police think were out there? "My husband and I lived here for 12 years. We talked about moving, but we really like Sandy because it was close to the mountains, close to the freeway, and we felt like it was a really safe place to raise our kids, but now we are veering off because it’s starting to get a little bit scarier," said Madsen.Stay Connected
