C’est magnifique! Here’s a sampling of Bay Area celebrations and festivities to unlock your inner Parisian this Bastille Day.

Bastille Day is almost upon us and the San Francisco Bay Area is pulling out all the Francophile stops with special dinners, fetes and other fun.

4:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 12, Belden Place, San Francisco. Once the home of Frenchmen seeking riches during the Gold Rush, Belden Place is the perfect spot to celebrate Bastille Day. Let the classic accordion music of Vintage Jukebox, festive decor, restaurant promotions and complimentary berets remind you why SF was once called the Paris of the West. Free admission.

July 12-14, various Left Bank venues. In honor of Bastille Day, this group of Parisian-style brasseries will feature special menu additions. On July 14, select locations will also be hosting Bastille Day celebrations. Be whisked away to Paris with rustic, authentic French dishes, live music and festive entertainment, plus blue, blanc and rouge decorations. Find additional info at

11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 13-14, Sosie Wines, 25C E. Napa St., Sonoma. Join Sosie Wines for a Bastille Day celebration featuring French-style wine, cheese, charcuterie and bread plus a screening of the famous French movie, “Amelie,” for a full immersion into French culture. Prices vary.
