Plans to build Avalon Trails, a 130-unit town house subdivision on Hopps Road, south of Bowes Road, have received the Elgin Planning and Zoning Commission's endorsement.
Avalon Trails subdivision, proposed by North Mark Homes, would be built on land west of Iglesia Apostolica De La Fe En Cristo Jesus and south of the 266-unit town house subdivision The Reserve of Elgin, located south of Bowes Road.The development would have one access point at Hopps Road, with the developer committing to improvements that would bring Hopps up to city standards, Associate Planner Denise Momodu said at the commission meeting.
Elgin-based North Mark Homes has been building homes in the Fox Valley for 35 years, President Jeff Pelock told the commission. “We are planning to use high-quality materials. We plan to build a really nice-looking project,” he said.
