For this giving Tuesday, CFBNJ will unlock a $50,000 match in donations if they hit their goal of $75,000. The money will be going toward giving meals to New Jersey families experiencing food insecurity. Food donations are also accepted and can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They are always in need of various non-perishable food items such as canned tuna, pasta, instant potatoes and rice.
They are in need of pretty much anything and everything – from peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit, cereal, spaghetti sauce, coffee, sugar, condiments and more. They try to have a volunteer on site to collect items from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They ask to not leave any donations outside and to call their phone number if the building seems to be closed.There are a few ways to get involved at this northern New Jersey food bank.
Except to homeless, (they have nowhere to cook’ they need warm food) in recent times they are forgotten by some organizations!
