In typical '80s fashion, this epic fantasy concept plays out as a little exaggerated and silly, but with director Chad Stahelski and Henry Cavill combining for the latest attempt to handle a remake, the plans are in the right hands.
The story could remain in its ancient setting of a time unexplored, or in a modern retelling, a contemporary version could bring this fantasy right up to date. Either way, the story of The Beastmaster is a great one that combines Doctor Doolittle with Conan The Barbarian, and it just works. 2 The Dark Crystal Jim Henson and Frank Oz of Sesame Street and The Muppets fame direct and star in The Dark Crystal, a fantasy adventure a long time ago and far, far away. The Gelflings, a small race of aliens are on a journey to save their world from a race of evil monsters and wizards.
