For the relatives of one of the victims of the VTA yard shooting, the pain runs just as deep now as it did on the day of shooting

will be remembered Thursday to mark a year after the tragedy.VTA employees Thursday morning gathered at the yard in a private ceremony to pay tribute to the workers killed.A public memorial to remember victims and honor their families is also scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen will also present medals to the first responders of the shooting.

The San Jose City Council proclaimed a Day of Remembrance for the victims of the VTA yard shooting as the one-year anniversary approaches. A moment of silence was held at City Hall and the rotunda will be lit in the VTA's colors of white, dark blue and light blue.
