Personal protective equipment has become a hot commodity during the pandemic, and it appears thieves are taking advantage of the demand.

Along with local police, the theft was reported to the FBI because the gloves, having recently arrived stateside from Malaysia, were registered federally.“We’ve had hospitals asking for this product on a daily basis waiting for this to arrive. It’s

in so many different ways,” Grimes told the Associated Press, adding that “these are not just consumers. These are friends. We play an important part in the role of health care.”The sharp demand for PPE like face masks and plastic gloves when the pandemic hit has driven increasing reports of medical products being stolen and hoarded.
