Former Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson told PennLive that her vehicle was damaged in the shooting.

One person was injured when a shooting broke out in the 2300 block of Emerald Street around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6, 2022. One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries when dozens of shots were fired near a Harrisburg playground on Thursday night.

Police were called to the 2300 block of North 5th Street around 6:30 p.m., which borders one side of the Emerald Street Playground. An officer at the scene confirmed that one person is receiving medical treatment for a shooting injury, but could not provide additional details Thursday night.Although the scene appeared to be spread out, police said the bulk of the investigation was between Emerald and Curtin streets on 5th Street.

One person was injured when a shooting broke out in the 2300 block of Emerald Street around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6, 2022. Police confirmed that dozens of shots were fired in the incident, but said for the amount of gunfire, there was limited property damage.Police cleared the scene around 10 p.m.Last week, 15-year-old Kymire McKinney was killed in the 1900 block of Boas Street.Read more on PennLive:
