Tue, May 21st 2024 at 4:55 AM BANGKOK , Thailand - One person is dead and several others are injured after a flight was hit by severe turbulence.one person was killed and multiple others were injured on a Singapore Airlines flight from London that ran into extreme turbulence. Per the network, the Singapore-bound Boeing 777-300ER was diverted back to Bangkok and landed at about 3:45 p.m. local time.
Singapore Airlines Flight SQ 321 was carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew, according to the BBC, citing a statement from the airline. "Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased," the airline wrote, per the BBC. The company confirmed it is cooperating with authorities in Thailand to provide affected passengers with medical assistance, according to the BBC, which reported that the company will also send a team to Bangkok to provide additional assistance.
BBC reported that ambulances and medical teams have been dispatched to the Suvarnabhumi Airport by Thai authorities.
