A lack of supply is the main factor driving UK house prices up - as more people clamour to get on the property ladder.holiday saw prices rise all over the country and many homeowners decided to move away from large towns and cities.It means buyers are having to save larger deposits and take on bigger mortgages to afford a home.

And there is a growing trend of buyers having to pay over the asking price or go to sealed bids to secure a property as the market remains hot.The Bank has also warned that the UK is heading for a recession, which could dampen demand.
