Youths told cops they were fixing moped for pals 'Mickey Mouse and Nicki Minaj'

Two youths who claiming to be "fixing up" a moped for their friends "Mickey Mouse" and "Nicki Minaj" have been arrested.

Police stumbled across the youths interfering with a moped while attending a separate incident. In a tongue-in-cheek post on Facebook, officers said: "We're not claiming to be experts in mopeds, but the jump leads and lack of reg plates did rouse our suspicions". After speaking with the youths, police said they were "not satisfied with their story" and were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. They spent the night in custody and have been told "if you want to go to the beach-each to get a wave this weekend, you'll have to catch the bus".

"On speaking with the two, we were not satisfied with their story, that they were "fixing it up" for their friends "Mickey Mouse" and "Nicki Minaj". They were subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. "They spent the night in our finest custody suite, and we have contacted the owners of the confirmed stolen moped Unfortunately lads, if you want to go to the beach-each to get a wave this weekend, you'll have to catch the bus."
