Nearly a quarter of Americans 20 to 34 are neither working nor looking for work, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Also, I can’t help but notice the correlation between the participation trophy culture and the decline of work ethic. I understand the correlation is not causation but these two seem pretty directly related to me

If she has responsibly socked away savings that allow her to take this sabbatical, more power to her. If she finds a niche where she can support herself doing telehealth, all the better. I’m afraid a lot of these young people however are going to be in for a rude awakening

Our jobs suck and don't pay enough to live on

Why? The reason is this. Younger generations are well aware of the modern technologies of exploitation.They prefer opportunities with less exploitation.

Is it any wonder? The work place has become a place of harassment. I took early retirement to get away from 2 passive aggressive women who took over the office & ruled with terror (but with a smile). It was horrible. HR turns a blind eye to it. It was at a large University in 🇨🇦.

That is true all across the Western world & this is the generation that finally erodes the archaic eco-social models carried out by idiots after WW II.
