You could be putting your child's life at risk as well as risking a £500 fine if you don't deactivate the front airbag when fitting their car seat

MOTORISTS could be putting their kids' lives at risk if they fail to deactivate the airbag when fitting a child seat in the front of their car.

Rule 101 of the Highway Code states: "A rear-facing baby seat MUST NOT be fitted into a seat protected by an active frontal airbag, as in a crash it can cause serious injury or death to the child."with authorities able to slap drivers with a fine up to £500 if they don't meet strict requirements.
