an example of how inept he is.

This latest gimmick is designed to make him look like he cares. Well done Guardian for focusing on one of the root causes of inequality in our nation.

If there is no equality how are those affected supposed to move forward. Austerity has created a nation riddled with mental health problems. This is where we should start. Should we blame the Tories, yes. Should we blame Boris, absolutely.

In order to make positive choices you have to be motivated, have confidence, support and encouragement. It is more a state of mind. You have to care about yourself before you can begin to even think about making life changes.

I completely agree with with this. There is far too much inequality in this country, on every level. Tackling health issues is not as easy as saying it's a choice, it's much deeper than that.

That is the most disconnected headline ever

It Didn't Work. He's Still Rotundly Challenged.

You can blame the government, or you can go for a walk/jog and eat less junk. It really is your own choice.

Campaign for healthy eating. A well balanced diet that includes all food groups and an emphasis on moderation. A reduction in alcohol consumption. Help and advice on exercise.

It's being so cheerful...

The best thing the UK and any Government can do on the fight against ill-health is three things 1. A campaign on the dangers of eating meat 2. A campaign on how eating vegetables is healthy and delicious 3. A campaign on getting people getting outdoors & playing& exercising more

A bag of frozen chips is cheaper than a bag of apples, good luck boris.

So, apart from legislating to raise the minimum wage further, and reduce the number of hours one can work, is there no way of reducing the nation's weight?

How about your own personal war on obesity? So without a prior medical condition, do you look at your reflection in the mirror and blame Boris? Or do you think, perhaps, I shouldn't have munched through a whole packet of chocolate biscuits today?

Shouldn’t years of austerity be making people skinnier not fatter?

War on anything is always a massive failure. See: War on drugs War on terror

A nation being told to lose weight by an egg on legs

Because of course people base their levels of physical activity and their choice of food on the level of government spending. Give it a rest.

I made sure I ate as much as possible during the years of austerity, and consequently I am now 34 stone.

That picture is a coincidence.

It's like an obese nurse l once worked with lecturing a poorly patient on being overweight!

Shouldn't the headline be 'Years of Hypocrisy'? 🤔
