follows the fortunes of three generations of one Manchester family, the Lyons, from 2019 through to 2034. The intertwined personal lives of close-knit siblings Stephen ; Daniel , a housing officer who realises his husband Ralph is not the man he should have married; Rosie ; and political activist Edith . Together with various offspring and their grandma Muriel , it is all played out against a bleak backdrop that sketches out our imagined future.
It's not 'thrilling' it looks from the trailers to be totally lacking in any reality about the future, clearly the writer hasn't a clue what's happening to the environment nor of the timescale for collapse. Easier to obsess about robots and sex and ignore the scary stuff.
