Women's European Qualifiers: England vs France preview: Lauren James to miss double-header

Sarina Wigman has confirmed Lauren James will miss England's double-header with France, with Jessica Naz stepping in to replace the Chelsea forward.England trail group leaders France by two points, but can go top of Group A3 with victory in Friday's Euro qualifier at St James’ Park.England boss Wiegman said: 'Not everyone is available for selection. Lauren James didn't make it, so she is not selected. Jess Naz will be added to the group.

'Expanding on James' absence, Wiegman said: 'She already had some foot problems at her club so she came in and we hoped we could build her up but it's just too early, so unfortunately she can't stay with us.'Of course, it's a disappointment. We did everything, she did everything but it's just too early now. For her and the team it is unfortunate. 'For Jess, she is ready. She has shown some good stuff in training and with her club, so we have to move on.
