A man suffered ‘horrific’ injuries after being lured into an ambush by his former girlfriend and battered to within an inch of his life with a baseball bat by her new partner, a court heard.
He was rushed to hospital where paramedics battled to save his life, with Mr Silcott adding: ‘It is a miracle he survived.’Culhane, from West Drayton, and White, from Uxbridge, both deny attempted murder, while White denies a further charge of having an offensive weapon in relation to the bat. Mr Silcott said: ‘In the days leading up to the attack on Mr Flory, Ms Culhane had also rekindled a relationship with Mr White, having previously had a short romantic relationship with him some years before.’The court heard that Culhane and White ‘lured’ Mr Flory to a road close to White’s home at around 1.30am ‘intending that James White would attack’ him.
‘Mr White then left his address where he had spent the evening with Ms Culhane and attacked Mr Flory with a baseball bat.’
I always wonder why in the UK, they use baseball bats and why not cricket bats?
