A woman says she was left humiliated after being 'fat shamed' by a personal shopper at a department store in Manchester.
In the email, the personal shopper said: "I need to start by apologising for the short notice, but I think it's best if we postpone your appointment for a wardrobe refresh, until we have a better selection of stock to shop. Ronnie, who had earmarked two hours of her birthday to attend the appointment with her partner, branded the email "unprofessional" and said she's been left "upset" and "disappointed."
Ronnie had booked the appointment on Tuesday for a full wardrobe refresh, as she said she'd fallen out of touch with current trends and wanted a confidence boost.
Not fat shaming at all! She had let them know her size and they didn’t have enough items to show her! Yet another person looking for compo! If she feels fat shamed then maybe she needs to address her diet!

Why say that the woman could have health problems & seen by a doctor, its something you should never say to a woman especially a shopper at the House of Fraser, to me that's asalt & the police should fine him, & if it happens again fire him.
At least they were honest, seems she took it as the store said she was fat, when in reality they said they don’t stock clothes above a size 14, and the expression floods of tears is a slight exaggeration.

Totally ridiculous story and not newsworthy. Perhaps they should have left her to attend and then go through the “humiliation” what a crazy view that is of not finding the items she wanted in her size. I would argue they have saved her a wasted journey.

They didn’t have her size in stock and told her beforehand to save her a trip. She’s out for compensation and nothing else.
Finn6dog oh how awful. Not everyone is a size 0. We are all individuals and sizes. I lost 2 stone on weight before I had a big operation. I have always been a curvy woman. I did find it hard sometimes to buy clothes that were fashionable for my size. But I always looked good.
Disappointing that a major department store has no clothes in larger sizes. Would have been far worse though to arrive at appointment and spend 2 hours being unable to find anything to fit.
For her to go to a news outlet over that just sums up that she's an attention seeker 😂 they didn't have ya stock it happens. If I'm let's say size 14 shoe size and they don't have my size. Am I gonna winge about them feet shaming me and that they don't stock for big feet guys 😂
The store acted very courteously. They saved Ronnie a wasted journey. No fat shaming...just facts. This is really poor reporting
She sounds like a right drama Queen. The shop were very nice to her I thought. They let her know there wasn’t a lot in her size. That’s it. If she’s in a minority, why would they stock a full range? They’re not a charity. Think she needs to wise up.

Very courteous email trying to not waste her time. But sure try to turn people against the personal shopper, when in reality I imagine this article end up only being negative for the MEN
