Halifax Road in Hurstead was closed for several hours following the tragic incident yesterday afternoon.
Her family has been made aware and Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.Officers taped off Halifax Road, between Wardle Road and Birch Road, for several hours following the incident. The road reopened at about 9pm on Friday evening.
"At around 3.50pm we were called to a report of a collision between a HGV and a pedestrian on Halifax Road in the Wardle area of the town.
