A WOMAN cut off her own hand with a circular saw in a gruesome bid to make £340,000 in insurance money, police say.
The 21-year-old enlisted the help of her family in an apparent injury claim fraud, according to detectives in Slovenia.Police say a woman claimed to have cut off her hand in a horror accident - but did it intentionally to make an insurance claim She was rushed to hospital in the capital Ljubljana claiming that she was the victim of a horrific accident while cutting branches.
But the woman left the severed hand at home in a deliberate attempt to ensure the injury was permanent, cops claim.BBC NewsThey allegedly took out an insurance policy in recent weeks and had stood to gain around €400,000 .
