A woman has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by a large bully-type dog in Dumfries and Galloway.
Ambulance crews attended and a woman was taken to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment. Her injuries have been described as serious. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a large bulldog type dog having attacked a woman in the McConnel Street area of Kelloholm around 6.25pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
"Officers remain in attendance and the dog has been secured. Members of the public are advised to avoid the area."
