Woman arrested after 'attempting to drive off in ambulance'

A woman has been arrested and charged following an incident in Co Tyrone on Saturday where she allegedly attempted to drive off in an ambulance.

Police say the 46-year-old has been charged with driving with excess alcohol in breath and taking a motor vehicle without authority. Officers were called to the scene in the Brigade Terrace area of Strabane on Saturday, July 23 following reports that a woman had attempted to drive off in an ambulance.A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police in Strabane have charged a 46-year-old woman with being in charge with excess alcohol in breath, and taking a motor vehicle without authority."As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
