, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke admitted the technology is likely here to stay despite the criticism towards it this season.a resolution to the Premier League, with all 20 member clubs set to share their stance on the issue at the annual general meeting on 6 June.

VAR was initially introduced in 2019 to help the on-field officials come to the right decisions and review any “clear and obvious” errors. O’Rourke believes the West Midlands club have had a “rough deal” with VAR this season after various contentious decisions have gone against them. The Premier League is unlikely to offer any benefits for scrapping the technology after helping develop it over the past five years.
