There’s an expectation in the UK that everyone will be celebrating the birth of Jesus only 46 per cent of people identified as Christian

Christmas has been coming for some time. The decorations, the music, the adverts all begin in November, if not before. There’s an expectation in the UK thatI run a diversity and inclusion consultancy, and we hear regularly about the discomfort and anxiety that Christmas can bring.

There has to be a better way and now that we’re officially a post-Christian society, can’t we find a way to celebrate that includes everyone? Can’t we mark and acknowledge all religious and spiritual festivals and learn about one another’s beliefs? and honouring their different practices.
