The 72 year old sadly passed away on Sunday, 9 June, with his daughters, partner and beloved dogs by his side. In 2022, Simon was told that he had an "aggressive" form of lung cancer, and despite doctors not being able to tell him whether he would live for "weeks or months" he valiantly fought the disease for two years until his passing.
A lengthy statement issued on behalf of the foundation on Monday, 10 June, said: "It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Simon Cowell MBE, conservationist, founder and CEO of the Wildlife Aid Foundation and presenter of Wildlife SOS. "Simon was one of the UK’s most respected conservationists and a passionate advocate for wildlife protection and environmental causes.
Simon's devastated fans took to social media to pay tribute to the star, as one wrote under a picture of him on Instagram: "Can't find the words. I feel sad for the world we've lost an amazing man.
