Money is still a taboo subject for women and they are the poorer for it. But it’s easy to invest in stocks and shares, starting with £25 a month

Fourteen years ago, I edited a magazine for investors. I took over the job from another woman, many of the journalists I commissioned were women, and most of the press officers I spoke to were women. But when it came to the fund managers we interviewed, almost all were men. The readership, too, was overwhelmingly male. Women clearly understood how the stock market worked; they just weren’t investing in it themselves.

Investing can be risky. The bigger the returns the bigger the risks. Are women ready for that as you can lose it all. There's every chance you will lose as much as you might gain!

Yes. Start with small amounts and increase it to larger amounts once you you have gained confidence...

I take it this only applies to women who can afford to save and not the millions of women your paper refuses to represent via third wave feminism - working class women.

If you husband beats you up, you can't grab your portfolio and get an apartment. If the washer breaks, or, god forbid, the pipes, cash is handy. Let women do what is best for them, stop exploiting them.

When you have males that want to rob you and stomp on you...saving is their only option...right Jason...
